Kylian Mbappe wasn’t on the scoresheet last night but he was a big talking point at the Al Bayt Stadium after having a hand in both France goals.
Furthermore, he was at the centre of a bizarre situation before kick-off when he struck a France fan in the face with a wayward shot in the warmup.
RMC Sport in France have now spoken to the affected fan, who claims he was actually knocked out by the strike.
“I was on the drum and I didn’t see the ball coming at all. I took it right in the face… I fell all of a sudden, I was completely knocked out,” he said.
He then received a surprise visit from the PSG star but couldn’t remember much from of the embrace.
The fan added: “I started hearing people say ‘Kylian, Kylian, Kylian’ so I saw on the videos I was shown that he came to see me, but I didn’t even realise. It took me a few minutes to recover.”
