Joss also won two Brit Awards and a Grammy, wowing people with her soulful vocals, but where is the star now as she’s rumoured to be The Masked Singer’s Sausage? Let’s take a look…
Where is Joss Stone now?
Joss, 33, caused controversy at the 2007 BRIT Awards after speaking in an American accent and cracking what was deemed as an unfunny joke about Russell Brand.
At the time, the Dover-born singer told the Independent: “At the end of the day, I don’t give a f**k if people have a problem with my accent.
“That’s all I can say about it. The words I say do not change. If the way that it sounds is skewwhiff and you don’t like it, don’t listen. I’m not being a cruel person by sounding a different way. And I can’t help it.
“I’ve been [in America working] since I was, like, 14. All I’m doing is working. I do my job, and I go home.”
After this Joss released another album which didn’t perform as well as her first, reaching number 12 on the UK Albums Chart.
The stunning star hit headlines in June 2011 as two men were found guilty of planning to rob and murder the star at her home in Devon.
Joss has continued with her music career and she’s performed in nearly 200 countries due to the success of her music.
In 2019, the star revealed she was off to perform in North Korea, writing: “Hopefully by the time I get back I will have learnt some words and will be hopefully pronouncing them properly. I am learning a song called arrirang which apparently is the national song of Korea as a whole which is nice.”
“We are all very excited to see this part of the world . So much so I couldn’t sleep last night ! This has really been one of the most interesting legs of the #totalworldtour . #spreadthelove far and wide exclude no one xoxox.”
The star boasts 331,000 followers on Instagram and she shares regular updates on her channel.
Joss has a podcast named ‘A Cuppa Happy,’ where she talks to various famous faces, and she’s also into cooking and shares her recipes on her social media channels too.
More recently, fans of ITV’s The Masked Singer believe Joss could be behind the character Sausage. She is rumoured alongside the likes of Sheridan Smith and Stacey Solomon.
Is Joss Stone married?
Joss Stone isn’t married, but she recently joined the mum club after welcoming her first child with musician boyfriend Cody DaLuz.
The singer, who announced her pregnancy in October last year, revealed the special news during her Cooking with Joss Facebook live session.
Joss appeared alongside Cody and their daughter Violet Melissa as they gushed over the tot.
Mother and baby wore matching outfits, with Joss wearing a white dress with a leaf print, and the baby girl wearing a blanket and hat from the same material.
She said: “So I have a very special bun that I’ve been making for, ooh, it took about nine months, and it’s cooked, it’s ready!
“So here’s one we made earlier,” she said, before ushering in her partner with the baby.
Joss initially revealed her pregnancy on her A Cuppa Happy podcast while speaking to food writer Ella Mills, known as Deliciously Ella, who was also pregnant.
The songwriter told Ella: “Guess what? I am going to have a little baby too!
“I am so excited to talk to you because I don’t know many pregnant women. I am week 17 and I just stopped being sick all the time.”
Opening up about being sick in the early stages of her pregnancy, she added: “My boyfriend kept saying to me, ‘Pain is temporary’.
“Temporary, it is temporary. Oh my god, it is horrible! Leave me alone! I am just going to cry.”
Joss shared her fears for having to give birth to the baby and divulged: “I woke up in the middle of the night – randomly – and I was like, ‘Oh my god I am really scared!’
“I just got really terrified of having to push it out,” she explained.
