Much of the filming was done on location at Ranger’s House, a beautiful Georgian mansion house in Greenwich Park, London.
However, the scenes filmed inside Bridgerton House were shot in a stately home that viewers might recognise from The Crown as both dramas filmed at Wilton House.
For Bridgerton, Wilton House was used to portray the residences of the Duke of Hastings, Lady Danbury, Queen Charlotte, and the Duke and Duchess of Hastings.
In fact, Wilton House, which is located in Salisbury near Wiltshire, has been welcoming film crews for decades.
The 2019 film Emma starring Queen’s Gambit actress Anya Taylor Joy was also filmed at the home as well as Emily Blunt’s Young Victoria.
The house boasts an impressive list of TV and film credits and was even used for the 1995 film Sense and Sensibility.
However, it’s not just period dramas that are welcome and Wilton House has always opened it’s doors for the filming of an episode of Flog It! And Britain’s Next Top Model.
While much of the show was shot inside Wilton House, different exteriors were used to set each scene.
The house that Daphne and Simon visit for their honeymoon is, in fact, Castle Howard in Yorkshire.
The Great Temple of the castle was used as the exterior for one of Simon and Daphne’s steamier scenes.
Meanwhile Lady Dandbury’s estate is the Holburne museum in Bath.
While the exterior of the Featherington estate is No. 1 Royal Crescent in Bath.
It’s not just the locations that might seem familiar to viewers after some of the show’s actors were recognised from their previous work.
Leading lady Pheobe Dynevor was clocked from her Waterloo Road days after she made her debut in the school based show when she was just 14 years old.
Another star of Bridgerton who viewers quickly recognised from another hit show is Violet Bridgerton, who plays the matriarch in the hit series.
The actress previously starred as Tracy Beaker’s mum Carly, to the surprise of viewers.
