Mohamed Salah has already commented on a shock return to Chelsea after the Liverpool forward was linked with a move back to Stamford Bridge.
The Egypt international’s future is in doubt with his Liverpool deal expiring in two years. No fresh terms have been agreed.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been suggested as potential destinations for Salah should he leave Anfield.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been rumoured to be interested, especially if Kylian Mbappe leaves in the next transfer window. The 22-year-old Frenchman is believed to be a target for Real.
Almost a year after joining the Reds, he reflected to Sky Sports about his first spell in England. He claims he was not presented with enough chances with Chelsea.
“I know from the first day [at Liverpool] I wanted to do something different, something special,” he said.
“I was here [in England] with Chelsea, didn’t get my chance, and then came back. I wanted to show everyone my football.
“I didn’t play. You can see by the numbers. I didn’t have my chance, but you can see when I did get my chance I proved some people wrong.”
Salah’s second stint in England has fared far better than his time with Chelsea.
His maiden season ended with him breaking the record for most goals scored by an individual in a single Premier League season.
The Egyptian has scored an impressive 123 goals in 198 appearances for the club. He scored in the Champions League final win over Tottenham and was also crucial to them winning last season’s league title.
