Weekend schedule for the F1 2022 Italian Grand Prix

Formula 1 completes the final leg of its triple-header this weekend with the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

It’s firmly advantage Max Verstappen and Red Bull as the World Champion secured his fourth successive win last weekend in his home Dutch Grand Prix to extend his championship lead to 109 points over Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc.

Leclerc and Ferrari will be hoping to put on a show in front of the Tifosi – but the title looks to be gone for 2022 following repeated strategic and race execution blunders on part of driver and team.

The Monegasque doesn’t think Ferrari will be ale to match Red Bull, as the Scuderia’ strength has been on high-downforce tracks in 2022 – not the high-speed blasts presented at Monza.

Elsewhere, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are still searching for that first Grand Prix win of the year for Mercedes, while Daniel Ricciardo will be hoping for a decent result as he returns to the scene of his win 12 months ago as his time at McLaren draws to a close.

Timings for the weekend are the traditional European ones, with the race set to go green at 2pm BST, 3pm CET on Sunday for 53 laps.
