More than 30 drivers started the Formula Regional Middle East race at the Kuwait Motor Town Circuit, however a significant portion of drivers failed to make it past the second corner.
The track features a short run to Turn 1, then exits onto a long straight before Turn 2. This gives it plenty of options to slip stream, which is exactly what happened when cars went four-wide on entry to T2.
As can be seen in the video below, a number of drivers misjudged the braking zone and chain-reaction process took place with one car launching on top of another.
Other drivers including Sebastian Montoya managed to escape being caught up in the mess, with the Columbian jumping from 18th to fourth.
