Video: Check out aerial footage of the almost-complete Miami GP circuit

The Miami International Autodrome, located at the Hard Rock Stadium – home of the Miami Dolphins – is set to host its first-ever Formula 1 race next weekend as the sport introduces a second round in the United States.

The circuit is a bespoke build utilising the land around the stadium, with the construction of the track taking place over the course of 12 months starting in May 2021.

Recently, an update from the race organisers confirmed that the venue is almost fully ready.

Miami CEO praises “progress” on track build

Miami Grand Prix CEO Richard Cregan said: “We are delighted with the progress we have made, and it’s a huge credit to the hard work of the team here in Miami, in consultation with both Formula 1 and the FIA, to get this circuit finished in a tight timeline.”

A YouTube user with the name Prospect 86 has shared a video showcasing the newly-built circuit using a drone overhead, showing off various sections of the track.

This includes a detailed look at the pit straight and the newly constructed pit buildings, as well as the “marina” section with boats hauled into place atop a fake water base.

The high-speed circuit plays host to the inaugural Miami Grand Prix on 8 May.
