Tsunoda receives further grid penalty for FP2 incident at Monza

Yuki Tsunoda has received a third Formula 1 grid penalty from the stewards following an on-track incident in second practice at the Italian Grand Prix.

Mid-way through the session, Mick Schumacher’s Haas encountered technical problems approaching the first Lesmo, pulling off the track.

As is normal, yellow flags were waved by marshals, before race control threw a red one to recover the stricken Haas.

However, Tsunoda failed to slow for the yellow flags at Turn 5.

After being summoned to the stewards, they handed him a further three place grid drop on top of the 10 he received for reaching five reprimands following undoing his seatbelts and driving a lap at Zandvoort.

For good measure, he’s also taking new components this weekend, meaning he has three different grid penalties for one race.

He also received two penalty points on his licence which brings him to eight for the 12 month period.

If he reaches 12, it will trigger an automatic one race ban.
