Tottenham are set to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the first north London derby of the season. And the visitors could find the answer to a £73.8million transfer question during the clash.

Spurs have two players who are facing uncertain futures at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Speculation around Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele remains rife, with both players being linked with moves away.

Sanchez’s agent admitted he had spoken to Sevilla about a potential transfer this summer after the defender had dropped down the pecking order in north London at the end of the last campaign.

But Sanchez started this season in scintillating form and was a standout performer as Spurs stormed to the top of the table in August courtesy of three victories and three clean sheets.

There has been another twist in the tale since last month, however, after Sanchez linked-up with Colombia for their World Cup qualifying games without the permission of his club.

Sanchez had two disastrous games for his country and was then forced to quarantine in Croatia before coming back to England.

According to Transfermarkt, Sanchez is worth £28.8m and Nuno may look to cash in if he doesn’t want to build his defence around the Colombian.

Ndombele, meanwhile, remains an enigma and the midfielder looked certain to depart in the summer after he told the club he wanted to leave.

The likes of Bayern Munich were apparently interested, but the 24-year-old stayed put.

He has since been told to ‘knuckle down’ and started his first Premier League game of the season last time out.

Ndombele impressed in the Carabao Cup against Wolves in midweek and got on the scoresheet as Spurs booked their place in the fourth round courtesy of a penalty shootout victory.

He will be hoping to keep his place in the side for Tottenham’s showdown with Arsenal and illustrate exactly what he is capable of.

The France international has four years left on his contract in north London and has been valued at £45m.

Ndombele now needs to step up and become a key figure for Nuno’s team. His talent is unquestionable and, with the right attitude, he could become a star for Tottenham.

If he can’t hit those heights, however, the worst thing Spurs can do is leave him to rot on the bench as his value plummets.

If Ndombele isn’t going to be central to Nuno’s plans, the club may as well sell the player and put the funds to use somewhere else.
