Tottenham boss Pochettino sees bid REJECTED for Ndombele – but he WILL be sold | Football | Sport

Tottenham spirits are low after they missed out on a historic Champions League triumph at the hands of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Spurs are now hoping to cheer fans up by added to their talented squad for the first time in three transfer windows, and they have set their sights on the impressive Tanguy Ndombele.

Ndombele, 22, started for France in their win over Bolivia on Sunday and is a target for several top European clubs.

However, Le10Sport have claimed that Tottenham are the first club to make a move, but the bid was rejected after they fell short of the £70million asking price.

“People want to compare me with different managers but we are in a different project in a different place.

“After five years in Tottenham it was so clear the project. Our ambition was amazing and the commitment of our players amazing, providing us with our first ever CL final.

“Now it’s [time] to be calm, charge our mind and have time to talk.”

One player who could be on he way out of the club is Kieran Trippier, who is reportedly a £35m target for Juventus.

The World Cup hero has been dropped by England boss Gareth Southgate for the upcoming Nations League finals, and the player himself admitted that his form hasn’t been up to scratch.

“I don’t know,” the 28-year old said about his future.

“I go home now, spend time with my family, just recover after a long, difficult season. Everybody’s got a decision to make, no matter what.

“Obviously this club has been very good for me over the last few years but I’ll enjoy my summer, come back in pre-season and that’s when I’ll sit down with the manager and have a talk about my future.”
