The Michaels were staple Gogglebox regulars right from the first series.
The family was made up of dad Andrew, wife Carolyne and two of their kids, daughter Alex and son Louis.
They were later joined by their second daughter Cathryn, while their other son Pascal never took part.
They say never mention politics or religion, but Dad Andrew went a step further and ran to be a UKIP MP in 2014.
Producers are believed to have given the family the chance to withdraw from the political race, however, Andrew refused.
Executives didn’t take too kindly to his decision, and the family was sadly axed.
“Any Gogglebox cast member who becomes a candidate for a political party will have to step down from their involvement in Gogglebox,” a Channel 4 spokesperson said at the time.
Despite his best efforts, Andrew ended up losing his election and this led to the family being reinstated on the show in 2015.
“Now I have stepped down from my official position as prospective parliamentary candidate. I was happy to step down in order to pick up Gogglebox,” Andrew told The Sun at the time.
George Gilbey and his mum Linda and step dad Pete McGarry were the star family when they debuted in series two.
However, when George was offered a place on Celebrity Big Brother, the family faced a tough decision knowing that if he took it, they would lose their place due to the strict policy about becoming ‘too famous’.
Too tempted by the offer and the generous fee, George did appear on CBB and the family were forced off the show.
The family confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: “It is true that we won’t be on the next series of Gogglebox. We had a lovely time filming with them and wish the cast and crew lots of luck.”
George ended up placing fourth in the show, after snogging both Stephanie Pratt and B*Witched singer Edele Roberts.
His parents returned to Gogglebox three series’ later in 2016 with George appearing occasionally.
However, in 2019, the Essex boy was jailed for three months after being found guilty of drink-driving.
George was last seen working in his local Morrisons during the Coronavirus outbreak.
Taking to social media he shared a photo of himself in a Morrisons uniform, writing: “Everyone gotta do there bit… #coronavirus.” [sic]
