Lance Stroll has stated that he is "committed" to remaining with
Aston Martin and the project the team recently embarked on,
following speculation about his future earlier in the season. With
the Canadian driver's father, Lawrence Stroll, having owned the
team since August 2018, it has long been assumed that Stroll's seat
will always be safe on a sort of rolling contract. The team was
purchased by Stroll's father when it was known as Force India and
was quickly rebranded as Racing Point, before it became Aston
Martin in 2021. It is the owner's goal to make Aston Martin the
leading side in F1, something which has seen an extraordinary new
headquarters built and a new wind tunnel near completion. New
facilities are not the only thing to change, with the size of the
team's personnel having more than doubled. "It's amazing to see
how far we've come as a team, the last five years, I think we've
grown so much as a team since we were in pink colours," Stroll told
media including RacingNews365 . "And we have a very exciting wind
tunnel that's being built, we have an incredible facility that's
now in Silverstone that we moved into last year. "So there's a lot
of pieces of this puzzle that are really coming together that have
been coming together over the last few years. "And along with the
talented people that have been in Silverstone for many years, a lot
of new talented people have joined and are joining which makes this
project very exciting. "In my mind, definitely in the future,
that's where my head's heading." Stroll as 'committed' as ever As
impressive as the facilities are, Aston Martin still needs two
committed drivers to complete the puzzle. In the past 12 months,
Stroll has been linked to a dramatic career switch to tennis – he
denied this was on the cards – and most recently has seen his seat
linked to Carlos Sainz. The departing Ferrari driver joining Aston
Martin is strictly a rumour, with the Spaniard's strongest link
being with a potential move to Audi. Despite the speculation over
his future, Stroll has insisted that he remains as committed to F1
and Aston Martin's project as ever before. "For sure, I'm committed
to this whole project," stressed Stroll. "Like I said, how we've
gone from a team that had 350-400 people in 2018, 2019. "Now we're
pushing the number of 1000 people and looks very different in
Silverstone now than 18 months ago. So, yes, I'm definitely
committed and excited to be a part of this project."
