This is particularly the case if someone needs help to communicate with other people.
The organisation states: “This counts as personal care. It doesn’t matter if you don’t currently get this help, as long as you can show you need it.”
Attendance Allowance is paid at two rates depending on the level of care and support a person needs.
The lower rate is £61.85 per week for those who need help or supervision during the day or night, while the higher £92.40 rate is for those who need help or supervision throughout both day and the night.
To apply for Attendance Allowance, Britons will need to use the claim form, which can be accessed via the Government website.
