Kounde would undoubtedly be an unbelievable capture for the club but won’t come cheap.
The France international has become one of Europe’s top centre-backs at Sevilla, and Spurs are unsurprisingly not his only suitors.
He would provide the club with a world-class option for potentially the next 10 years and would likely repay his hefty fee and more.
Sevilla reportedly value Kounde at around £51.1m (€60m), which seems to be the minimum requirement to sign the top centre-backs in the current market.
To cough up that sum, Spurs may have to rely on sales as the football world recovers from the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Therefore, it may be a deal that comes to fruition in the latter stages of the transfer window.
