But like all mamas-to-be know, your favourite and pre baby jeans are one item you really can’t spin into maternity wear… or can you?
Rochelle took to Instagram to reveal to fans her clever hack for spinning her regular jean shorts into an interim pair of maternity denim shorts.
Taking a sneaky revealing snap, Rochelle showed fans that her denim shorts were not done up and instead help together by using a hair bobble wrapped around the shorts button and then secured to the button hole on the other side, creating a sort of expandable waistband for the shorts and securing them enough that Rochelle won’t suffer a wardrobe malfunction.
Captioning the picture with “I don’t yet own maternity shorts and it’s HOT…This is the real deal guys.” Rochelle’s brilliant hack is the perfect way to avoid splashing the cash on maternity denim shorts and jeans and it also means you can keep wearing your favourite pair of denim pre, during and post baby bump.
But this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this brilliant hack. Back in 2017 Irish blogger and YouTube star Anna Saccone took to Instagram to share two pictures of herself.
The first was a simple mirror selfie of the blonde beauty wearing jeans and a top.
In the second, the star revealed that she was holding her jeans button together using a hair tie.
Anna captioned the image: “4 months postpartum and I’m finally fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans…NOT!! But seriously this hair-tie trick is the biz if you’re either side of a pregnancy, have eaten too many brownies or just feeling bloated.
“Also just wanted to give an example of how what you see on Instagram isn’t always necessarily “real” – I mean god knows what other tricks I might have hiding under my floaty tops #postpartumbody #keepingitreal #hairtietrick #postpregnancybody #browniebaby.”
Fans have been quick to praise the post, as well as share their amazement over the genius idea.
One person commented: “You look amazing and I love how honest you are. Don’t be too hard on yourself!”
Another wrote: “I did this in all three of my pregnancies….. saved buying maternity jeans!”
One fan also confessed to using the hack, sharing: “3 months pp baby boy#3, def using they hair tie trick! You look amazing mama!” (sic).
