Real Madrid boss responds after Paul Pogba’s brother reveals Man Utd star’s dream | Football | Sport

Mathias Pogba, older brother to Paul, revealed his sibling could move to Real Madrid before the September 2 transfer deadline.

Zidane was then asked about the possibility in his press conference this afternoon.

It is thought the Real manager is very keen to add the United midfielder to his ranks.

But Zidane refused to comment on a player who is not part of his squad.

“Paul is a Manchester player and we must respect that,” Zidane said.

“We are here thinking of tomorrow’s game.”

Zidane also refused to comment on a potential deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

The Pogba question arose after Mathias spoke to El Chiringuito dropping a hint the midfielder could be on the move.

“Of course Florentino [Perez, Real president] can get him, nothing is impossible in life,” Mathias said.

“If you can’t stay and play where you are, you can stay and you’re done.

“I can’t assure you that he is going to stay at United. We know he wanted to move, but he’s not to blame. He’s waiting.

“He works hard and we’ll see what happens. In football you never know. Until September 2 everything can happen.

“My brother’s dream is to win the Champions League.”

United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims he is keen to keep hold of Pogba, especially because he can no longer bring in a replacement with the British transfer window being shut.

But the 26-year-old revealed after the 4-0 win over Chelsea last weekend that his future is still up in the air.

“There have been words,” he told RMC Sport.

“We always stay on that question mark. I’m in Manchester, I’m having fun with my team-mates, I want to win matches.”
