Putin and Erdogan meet as Ukraine war seethes

Presidents Vladimir Putin and Tayyip Erdogan met on Friday (August 5) for the second time in just over two weeks, after Turkey helped broker a deal to resume Ukraine’s Black Sea grain exports which were blocked by Russia’s invasion. The contacts between the two men underline the countries’ complex ties in cooperation and war.
