Old general store sells for $6.3m

Stuart Gan, of Coast Realty, has set a bidding guide of $6m for the auction of the Green Point Rd property and is seeing buyers from all over Sydney, the Central Coast and regional NSW.

The property has been owned and much-loved by a Sydney-based family for more than 40 years, and the time has come for them to pass it on.

Mr Gan said he had buyers who had been watching the property for decades, and who had asked him to notify them as soon as it came to market.

They are expected to be among the buyers lining up to secure this rare piece of paradise – and they will have plenty of competition, said Mr Gan.

“There is an enormous amount of interest but that is not surprising,” he said.

“It’s an amazing landmark property, and it’s one of the best properties in Pearl Beach. People are liking the uncomplicated three-bedroom cottage, and many would likely keep it as is or do some renovations.”

The property sale looks set to challenge the Pearl Beach price record, set by the $6.3m sale of another beachfront home at 8 Gem Rd, in October last year.

Features of the Green Point Rd property include an open-plan lounge, living, and dining space that opens out to a large deck that wraps around the house, offering the perfect vantage place for the views over the ocean and the beach.

The master bedroom’s natural wood grains continue the beach house feel and has a breathtaking view, shared by the second bedroom. Both have built in wardrobes. On the lower level, there is a studio is partly self-contained, and can be used as an additional bedroom, or the perfect office to work from home.

“The sun is in all the right places all the time and the view is everywhere,” Mr Gan said.

“For someone who lives Pearl Beach, this is everything they love about it right there on a plate. It’s a place you never want to leave.”
