Pensioners could get their Council Tax bill paid in FULL – Can you? | Personal Finance | Finance

The Savings Credit element provides extra income for people who have made some provision towards their retirement, either through savings or a pension other than the basic state pension, such as a private or workplace pension.

Single pensioners could get up to an extra £14.04 per week through Savings Credit, which would add up to an additional £56.16 per month, or £730.08 each year.

Married pensioners (or those in a civil partnership) could get an additional £15.71 per week, meaning they would pick up £816.92 more per year.

People who receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit could get their Council Tax paid in full, which could be of huge help to pensioners struggling financially.
