Newcastle owners must deliver No 1 priority before £200m transfers or new manager | Football | Sport

But it seems as though Newcastle’s options remain open for now and it is a position they want to fill.

It’s been suggested that Newcastle will have around £200million to spend when the transfer window reopens, with no potential risk of breaking Financial Fair Play regulations.

That kind of money could easily be wasted if a strong structure isn’t put in place though and that starts with hiring a director of football.

The appointment may well go hand-in-hand with a replacement for Bruce, should Newcastle’s owners make a change in the dugout.

Now the hard work begins for Newcastle’s new owners in finding the right person for the job.
