Amid reports claiming Mauricio Pochettino is United’s primary choice to permanently succeed Solskjaer, Neville is sceptical over whether he would leave Paris Saint-Germain if he succeeds in France.

“Well they are waiting. They’re waiting on Mauricio Pochettino not being successful at another club,” Neville explained.

“Because obviously if Mauricio Pochettino was successful at Paris Saint-Germain, if he was to win the Champions League, then obviously PSG wouldn’t let him go.

“I think Pochettino has always been a standout candidate. He’s the only name that I’ve ever really mentioned as someone who I thought really suited Manchester United.
