Klopp responds to exit rumours
Jurgen Klopp has brushed aside claims he could leave Liverpool because of the English weather.
His agent, Marc Kosicke recently said that the weather annoys him and is the reason behind his hesitance to sign a new deal.
Klopp’s current deal is set to expire in the summer of 2022 and the German is currently expected to see out his deal.
Now the German has put to be the rumours that the weather is impact his future on Merseyside.
“I am completely fine with the weather,” said Klopp. “Nothing in that story.
“He wanted to make a joke. It was obviously German humour as nobody got it.
“It’s not a reason for me to leave the country. Maybe at the moment it’s the most healthy weather in the world – we have enough rain, it’s cool, pretty much the opposite of this room.
“There’s nothing in that story. He’s my agent and my friend.”
Gary Neville makes Premier League prediction
Gary Neville believes that Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones could hand Liverpool the Premier League title.
“What will cost Manchester City the Premier League title is [their 68 per cent win ratio] when Stones and Otamendi play together,” he said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
“If these two play together, at their current rate, [City] won’t win the league.”
Otamendi was at fault for Norwich’s third goal as they stunned City 3-2 at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola has lost Aymeric Laporte to a knee problem and saw his captain Vincent Kompany move back to Anderlecht this summer.
Many eyebrows were raised when Jurgen Klopp named Roberto Firmino on the bench against Newcastle on Saturday.
Yet still the Brazilian managed to come off the bench and provide two assists to earn man of the match.
According to the The Athletic, the decision was made by Klopp because he is keen to focus on the bigger picture this season.
In this case, it’s the beginning of Liverpool’s Champions League defence against Napoli tonight and the trip to Chelsea on Sunday.
A private plane was put on by the club for Firmino and his national team-mate Fabinho to return to Merseyside from Los Angeles but the attacker only trained once ahead of the 3-1 win over the Magpies.
