Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been warned he cannot play the style of football that has been so successful during his time at Anfield with Thiago Alcantara in his midfield. Thiago joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich last summer for a fee of around £27million. After missing over two months due to a knee injury, the Spain international has now started the last three Premier League matches.
However, Liverpool failed to score in those three games to put a huge dent in their hopes of winning back-to-back top-flight titles.
Former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara says there is no doubting Thiago’s quality with the ball at his feet.
But he says the 29-year-old plays at a much slower pace than the likes of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, which has affected the output of the front three.
“As much as I love Thiago, I think he’s fantastic, brilliant to watch, he just slows it down for them,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT.
