Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, with the Portuguese international viewed as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum. Wijnaldum is out of contract with Liverpool at the end of the season and his future remains undecided.
Barcelona have been heavily linked with the Dutchman, with his former national team boss Ronald Koeman currently in charge at the Nou Camp.
The Catalan giants will be able to enter negotiations with Wijnaldum in January over a free transfer switch in the summer.
Liverpool are keen to keep the player at Anfield but his desire to sign a four-year contract means the two parties are currently at an impasse, with the Reds unwilling to offer the 30-year-old such a long-term deal.
In case the talks end with Wijnaldum deciding to move on, Liverpool are already looking at alternative options.
