Liverpool could repeat successful transfer trick as Jurgen Klopp plans summer signings | Football | Sport

Two of the Reds’ finest deals would have to be the departures of Rhian Brewster and Dominic Solanke, both of whom never looked likely to become key members of the club’s attack.

The duo were sold for a combined total of £43.5m, despite making only 31 first-team appearances between them for Klopp’s side.

With finances expected to be restricted this window as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Liverpool will need all the help they can get to recruit players capable of helping the club challenge for the Premier League title once again.

The Reds may not be able to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea when it comes to big-money arrivals this summer, but raising funds through player exits could certainly play its part in allowing Liverpool to capture their key targets.
