Kourtney Kardashian isn’t one to shy away from risqué topics over on her POOSH website, and now it seems she’s venturing more into the realms of sexual health and relationships with her latest article on autosexuality.

“Are you low key autosexual?” the headline bluntly asks.

Many of us may not have even heard of the term before, but the article goes on to explain that being autosexual means someone can be “turned on by engaging in their own eroticism.”

The mum-of-three asked therapist and writer, Casey Tanner, to help expand on the subject.

“Autosexuality may extend beyond sexual behavior to include feeling a longing or desire for oneself,” Tanner explains. “It can also be the ability to turn oneself on through looking at, visualising, touching, or smelling oneself.”

Interestingly, both POOSH and Tanner agree that while it may not be true for everyone, “we all are, at least a little [autosexual].”

The post then goes on to describe how women generally feel “more sexual and turned on” when we feel at our sexiest. This could mean when wearing sexy lingerie, washing in the bath, or “doing hair and make-up good so that you feel turned on.”

41-year-old Kourtney often takes to Instagram to post glamorous snaps in lingerie and barely-there dresses, which begs the question; is the star discussing her own experiences in this post?

Tanner concludes that “autosexuality is a spectrum—and the majority of us are on it.” And while some may identify as exclusively autosexual, “most people, however, incorporate it into a larger sexual repertoire that also includes being turned on by partnered sex.”

It seems Kourt is keen to follow in the footsteps of Gwyneth Paltrow, who’s lifestyle website Goop often discusses “taboo” subjects and opens up conversations around sexual health.

The Keeping up with the Kardashian star’s fans also seem to be liking the new content as one fan on Instagram commented that they “didn’t know what the word for it was” before reading her article on autosexuality.
