Kai Havertz calls Man City title win ‘unfair’ after Arsenal denied trophy on final day | Football | Sport

Kai Havertz gave a scathing reaction after Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title. The Gunners did their bit against Everton at the Emirates, with the German forward himself scoring a late winner to seal a 2-1 win.

But it mattered little, courtesy of Manchester City overcoming West Ham 3-1 at the Etihad. And speaking to TNT Sports after the final whistle at the Emirates, Havertz underlined his frustration at the club failing to land a first top-flight crown in 20 years.

Asked if Arsenal should be pleased with pushing the champions to the brink, he replied: “Right now I can’t think about that. Sometimes it’s not fair in football but we have to accept it.

“Football is hard. But hopefully we can go again next year and give Arsenal fans what they deserve. But I can tell them next year we are going to be even better team, and we are going to give everything next year again.”
