Gary Lineker has issued his support for James Justin, after the Leicester full-back suffered a potentially serious knee injury. The 22-year-old has been exceptional in the Premier League this season and had forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s thinking ahead of this summer’s European Championships.
Justin has played every minute in the Premier League this season and can play at both left and right-back.
His versatility and availability has seen many tip him for a surprise inclusion at at this summer’s tournament for the Three Lions but now England supporters have been left fearing the worst.
That’s because Justin was stretchered off this evening in Leicester’s FA Cup tie with Brighton at the King Power Stadium.
Unfortunately, it does not look good for the young defender, who was in significant pain as he went to ground clutching his knee.
Kelechi Iheanacho struck the all important winner in the 94th minute to ensure it wasn’t all bad news for the Foxes.
Youngster Vontae Daley-Campbell impressed though at full-back while Luke Thomas also put in another credible shift.
Leicester are not light in the full-back department with Ricardo Pereira now back to full fitness following a serious knee injury last season.
