TV personality James Argent rose to fame on ITVbe’s The Only Way Is Essex back in 2010, a show he stayed on for eight years. He won the hearts of the nation with his cheeky demeanour, and we followed the highs and lows of his relationship with Lydia Bright and then Diva Forever’s Gemma Collins.

Although he is one of the longest serving TOWIE cast members, Arg he was suspended from the show for a brief period after failing a drugs test in 2014. He then went on to spend time in famed celebrity rehabilitation centre, The Priory, to deal with his addiction issues, and returned to the series in 2015.

In an exclusive interview with OK! magazine last year the star said how it also affected his relationship: “I’m not sure what triggered it but I spiralled back into some old habits and I started to put myself before Gemma, which wasn’t fair.

“I was going out partying a lot and going AWOL for days on end. At the time I couldn’t see how unfair that was on Gemma or what it was doing to our relationship.”

Although it is not known the exact salary Arg received for being on TOWIE, earlier this year The Sun reported that cast members are paid in different pay bands according to their popularity and how long they have been on the show. Long-timers, including people such as Bobby Norris, Diags, Georgia Kousoulou, and Chloe Sims, were paid £450 an episode.

Whereas others got paid £350, £250 or £90 depending on how new they were to the series. Therefore it is safe to assume that, as of the most high profile cast members, earned in the highest bracket.
