Kristin resides in the hills of Brentwood, Los Angeles, California with her two children.
The actress adopted her first child, a girl named Gemma Rose Davis, back in 2011, and her second child, a boy named Wilson, in 2018.
Kristin has previously opened up about her desire to become a mother. On an episode of Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk, she revealed: “The time was ticking, and I wasn’t really thinking about it, I was working … At 38, which is a little late, I felt deeply that I need to be a mother.”
I still felt like there was a child out there that I needed to find that was my child… I can’t explain it. It was a spiritual kind of thing.”
Kristin has never married and remains single, but has previously told how she is completely content without a romantic partner.
“In my twenties I thought I’d never get married. I guess I was right!” Kristin previously said, as reported by People. “I grew up in the South so all everyone talked about was marriage but all I wanted was to move to New York and do theater. And in my thirties, I was busy doing the show so I just didn’t have time.”
The star’s last known public relationship appears to have been with West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin, who she dated in 2012 for a short period of time.
In 2013, she told Haute Living magazine: “I certainly intellectually feel like I’d like to have another romantic relationship, but I don’t know how to make the day-to-day of it happen. I don’t have time!”
Kristin rarely posts her private life online, with only a select few snaps providing a glimpse into her family life. She keeps her two children’s identity private, and they remain entirely out of the limelight.
Away from the acting world, Kristin is an ambassador for Oxfam, and has travelled across the world campaigning in support of the work since 2004.
She can also be found advocating for animal rights, and is a patron of the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which works to protect elephants and other species in Kenya.
