How long do you have to be employed to get furlough? | Personal Finance | Finance

Furlough is completely at your employer’s discretion and they must have made a Real Time Information payroll submission to HMRC on your behalf at some point between March 20 to October 30, 2020, for you to qualify.

The scheme is open to all employers, including non-profit organisations like charities.

It doesn’t matter if your firm didn’t take advantage of the first round of furlough, they can still claim for the renewed scheme.

What kind of contract you’re on doesn’t affect things either, and you can be furloughed on a zero-hours, temporary, flexible and part time contract.
