Hamilton not worried after setting unusual career statistic

Lewis Hamilton insists that he isn’t concerned after the British Grand Prix marked his longest winless streak from the beginning of a season.

The 2022 campaign is the first time that Hamilton has not achieved a victory within the first 10 races, having always broken his duck by this point in every year since he first entered Formula 1 in 2007.

In the current season, Hamilton’s best result has been a P3, which he has achieved on three occasions including his home event at Silverstone.

Hamilton not worried by statistic

When asked whether the fact that he has not yet won a race in 2022 feels strange, Hamilton denied that this is the case.

“It’s not a strange feeling at all,” the Mercedes driver told media, including RacingNews365.com, after the British Grand Prix.

“I’ve definitely had years in my career where I haven’t had wins for a period of time.”

Hamilton had one of his strongest weekends of the campaign so far at Silverstone, and at one stage looked to potentially be in contention for the win.

This has given him hope for what the Silver Arrows can achieve going forwards.

“The progress that we’ve made over the past couple of races has definitely given us hope that there’s more to come,” Hamilton added.

“There is potential in this car and we just have to keep doing our due diligence, keep our heads down, stay focused and not give up.”
