If there was one thing we weren’t expecting to see during lockdown, it was Hailey Bieber and husband Justin Bieber talking about skincare while cooking their favourite pasta dish – yet that is precisely what’s happened.
In a recent Cooking with the Biebers Facebook video – and as part of their The Biebers on Watch series – the couple revealed that Hailey has a bad habit of picking at her husband’s spots.
“It’s not good to pick pimples, but…” Hailey says.
“She pops them then she puts serum on and does masks for me,” Justin continues.
While a lot of us may be guilty of doing this to ourselves or to our partners, it spreads bacteria and can cause further spot outbreaks and possible scarring – so it’s always best to leave pimples alone.
In healthier news, the couple also admit to having a joint skincare routine that they like to call their ‘regimen’ – because according to Justin, Hailey’s skin is “so freaking good”.
What does this regimen involve? Hailey says she’s strict about her skincare and never goes to sleep without taking her make-up off. When she has time off she never wears a lot of make-up, and she tries to stay hydrated and drink a lot of water.
While Justin probably skips the make-up avoiding step, he does benefit from his wife’s fully-stocked bathroom cabinet. In a previous Skincare with the Biebers video, Hailey filmed herself performing an elaborate facial on Justin – which features everything from an enzyme peel to a detoxifying mask.
If you’re wondering why you can’t get your other half to get as involved in skincare as Justin is, it might be because they don’t have skincare issues like Justin. The singer is refreshingly open about his struggles with “adult onset acne”, as Hailey calls it.
“I would break out when I got super stressed but it would never stay. But now it’s cystic and bubbly and it won’t go away,” the singer admits in the skincare video. “It definitely bugs me – I wear a hat a lot more, which then probably makes it worse.”
It’s good to know that even mega-stars suffer from very human conditions like acne. But Hailey is hopeful that by working on their outer and inner health, Justin will feel more confident with his skin.
“By the time we exit this quarantine we’re going to have perfect skin!” she says.
Oh and if you were wondering – their favourite pasta dish is a creamy gluten-free sausage one. And it looks delicious.
