Firms have come under increasing pressure to furlough people during the third national lockdown in England.
The furlough scheme has now been extended up to April 30, 2021.
Employers are entitled to use the scheme, even if they have not used it before.
You must have been on your employer’s PAYE payroll by October 30, 2020, to be eligible for the scheme.
The scheme is also available for those who have been made redundant or left their job since late September.
You cannot work for your employer during the hours you have been furloughed.
But you may work for another employer if you are permitted to do so contractually, or volunteer elsewhere in these furloughed hours.
