Love Island 2021 is already bringing us the drama, tears, tantrums, romance, rippling abs, bulging biceps… and a lot of Just Eat adverts.

More than anything, the contestants have served up some serious looks, and we have been loving them.

From Millie’s show-stopping patterned two-piece she wore for her first (and second, and third) date, to Sharon’s effortless hair waves and Lucinda’s impeccable contouring, they’ve had us googling “how to look like an Islander” on a regular basis.

Lauren Vaughan, a hair stylist, colourist and extensionist based at the Doll HQ Salon in Chester spoke exclusively to OK! Online about some of the favourite styles she’s seen this season.

The expert has broken down exactly how to recreate some of the Majorcan villa residents’ best hairstyles into a few easy steps.

A top hairstylist tells OK! how to recreate some of Love Island 2021’s best looks

To recreate Lucinda’s updated take on a side plait, you’ll need a slim hair tie, some hairspray and a lot of patience.

A fishtail braid involves weaving strands of hair together, so you’ll need a lot of patience too.

  1. Sweep your hair into a low ponytail and divide the ponytail into two halves
  2. Take a smaller piece of hair from the left side and separate it
  3. Cross the smaller strand over the top and add it to the right section
  4. Then, do the same thing but taking a section from the right, crossing it over to the left section
  5. Repeat this process ensuring to only use small strands of hair for the full effect
  6. Secure with a hair tie and hairspray to keep in place
  7. Lucinda has gently loosened her braid for an effortless look

Sharon’s loose beachy waves

Sharon always nails the effortless waves

These gorgeous loose beach waves are achieved by brushing through cooled down curls to create a dropped out effect.

It’s best done on hair that’s on its second day after washing it.

  1. Section off your hair using some sectioning grips
  2. Use a wide barrelled curling tong to curl hair in 1 inch pieces
  3. Repeat this across the hair section by section, hairspraying the curled sections lightly as you go, making sure you don’t brush out the hair
  4. Leave the hair for around 10 minutes, or however long it takes you to get ready/have a cuppa/pull someone for a chat
  5. Gently brush out the curls, run finger through hair to separate and hairspray again

Millie’s heatless bun

Millie’s bun is so easy to recreate

Millie’s look is the easiest out of the bunch, the Essex girl definitely knows how to style her short, blonde hair with minimal effort yet maximum impact.

  1. Brush your hair into a low bun at the nape of the neck, leaving bangs out to shape the face

  2. Slick back using some hairspray, hair pomade or even hair gel for an extra-glam wet look

  3. So they don’t just sit on your face looking lifeless, style bangs by using a leave in roller whilst getting ready as it will add bounce and shape to the hair

You can add a stylish accessory too if you want to jazz up this style.

Kaz’s straight and sleek style

Kaz looked beautiful on her date with Teddy

Finally there’s the villa’s happiest ever contestant – Kaz – who has everyone obsessed with her matching pyjamas and silk hair bonnets.

The fashion influencer actually wears wigs on the show, with her natural hair braided underneath, so she wears the bonnet in order to protect it from damaging.

However, it’s possible for anyone to recreate this hairstyle, all you need are some straighteners, some heat protecting spray, and a comb.
