And in May, in an interview with Turkish TV channel TRT Spor, he said the potential for a move to Old Trafford was impacting Sancho’s concentration. 

“He’s a young player and is one of our most important players. I have to say that the transfer speculation is affecting him.  

“We have to support him in a positive way. I want all of our players to be happy.”

Sancho was United’s primary transfer target in the summer window, but the Reds failed to agree a fee with Dortmund for the winger, who they valued at £108 million. 

A January switch for the former Manchester City youngster is unlikely, although The Sun has previously claimed the Reds may make another approach.
