Former Republican strategist Brett O’Donnell told Sky News that President Trump should ask Joe Biden “pointed questions” and then give him time to answer. Mr O’Donnell stated that voters need to see the difference between Mr Trump and the Democrat nominee’s policy.

Mr O’Donnell said: “I think he should restrain himself.

“I think the President can be on offence without being offensive.

“He needs to ask pointed questions of Joe Biden, ‘would you pack the court? Are you going to raise taxes on hard-working middle-class families?’

“Other questions like that which get at Joe Biden’s policy positions.

“But then he needs to let him answer and explain those policies.

“So that he can point out that there is a big difference between his economic, health and foreign policy and Biden’s economic, health and foreign policy.”

The televised debate will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, tonight. It will start at 2am UK time and is the second and final debate between the two candidates.

Yesterday during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, the US President heavily criticised Mr Biden’s proposed health policy.

The President said Democrat nominee Joe Biden would crush the US with a lockdown if he wins the 2020 election.

“We are doing that, we are crushing the virus.

“Look at our numbers compared to Europe, we have had the biggest comeback of any country.

“We came back faster, we went down less, economically we came back faster.

“If you want depression, doom and despair, vote for sleepy Joe Biden.”
