McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo has unveiled his new helmet for the 2021 season, once again involving a colour change.

After two seasons at Renault, the latter seeing Ricciardo finish on the podium on two occasions, the Australian racer now makes the switch to McLaren for 2021.

And in-keeping with his vibrant designs free from Red Bull restrictions, Ricciardo has delivered yet another striking helmet for the new campaign.

The helmet references the papaya of Ricciardo’s new employers McLaren, joined by various shades of blue.

Ricciardo’s nickname, ‘The Honey Badger’, is placed on the back of the helmet, while on top is the slogan ‘All Good All Ways’, which Ricciardo says represents acceptance of all people, regardless of “race, religion” or any “walk of life”, as well as a message of positivity.

As he unveiled the new helmet on Instagram, Ricciardo said: “2021 helmet – this is it. It’s another Ornamental Conifer design. I’m stoked with it. The theme of it this year was ‘All Good, All Ways’.

“Two-fold really: it’s always going to be alright, the sun will always shine, you may have your ups and downs but it’s just trying to be positive with anything you do.

“The second part is no matter where you come from, what walk of life, race, religion, whichever… All Good, All Ways, everyone is cool.

“We’re accepting. Everybody loves everybody. I’m stoked with it, this is what I’m running with this year, hope you like it.”

Ricciardo has already stated that joining McLaren he felt was his best option if he is to chase a first World Championship.

“I think this is my best chance to achieve what I’ve said all along is the goal,” said Ricciardo in an exclusive interview with The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I didn’t ever want to get to F1 just to get to F1 – I wanted to be World Champion and I still do. McLaren, with the way they are progressing, feels like the best chance for me to be able to do that, maybe the best chance I’ve had.

“You never know in this sport but I’m confident I’m in the right place. Can I sit here and say I can fight for a World Championship next year? Who knows, but I feel confident I’m in the right place to give myself a good shot at it.

“You can see McLaren’s pathway to getting better and I feel McLaren is ready for me to be one of the elements they haven’t had to help them win.”
