Nate Diaz and Jake Paul have engaged in a heated Twitter spat after the latter called out Conor McGregor and challenged him to a boxing match. The YouTube star knocked out ex-NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr.
That was the second win of Paul’s boxing career, following his first against YouTuber AnEsonGib.
Paul posted a strange video on social media offering McGregor £45million to step into the ring with him.
“My team sent you a $50 million offer this morning – $50 million cash, proof of funds – the biggest offer you’ve ever been offered,” he said.
“But you’re still scared to fight me, Conor. You’re ducking me ‘cause you don’t want to lose to a YouTuber’. You’re 0-1 as a boxer.
“I’m 2-0 as a boxer. I just came off the eighth biggest pay-per-view event in history, but you want to fight Dustin ‘Prober’ who has less followers on Instagram than my dog – that’s a fact.”
Paul was pointing to McGregor’s only previous boxing match, a knockout defeat against Floyd Mayweather.
It is unclear if the former UFC champion will continue fighting in the Octagon or turn his hand to boxing for good.
Diaz is furious that Paul has called out his former rival.
McGregor lost to Diaz during their first UFC bout in 2015 but he avenged the loss via a majority decision a year later.
The Stockton Slugger has taken to Twitter to slam Paul for wanting to fight one of the biggest UFC stars.
“Jake Paul u need your ass beat for free u spoiled f**k u can’t really fight dumbs**t your gonna end up with your ass whooped for real somewhere talking like that,” he wrote.
Paul replied: “You saw what happened to the other Nate.”
Diaz then tagged Paul’s older brother Logan into his next comment, writing: “@LoganPaul check this little ho b***h before someone does.”
Paul took the final shot by posting a video of him apparently sparring with one of Diaz’s team-mates.
“Aye @NateDiaz209 I already beat your boy up come get your mans then you can get the smoke too,” he wrote.
“I really beat your boy up.”
