What is mould?

Mould is often caused by too much condensation, which happens when moist air comes into contact with a colder surface like a wall or window.

Kitchens and bathrooms tend to suffer more than other rooms in the home, for obvious reasons.

Winter is also the time for mould to thrive as less households open a window to let steam and moisture escape, favouring warm radiators instead.

As homes lack proper ventilation, and as humidity increases, mould can form on any surface – wooden furniture, plastic or silicone seals, in between tiles, or even painted concrete walls.
