One of those has been Hudson, who starred for Chelsea during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.

Hudson, a technically excellent midfielder in his day, played in every round of the 1970 FA Cup run up to the semi-final despite being just 18, before injury ruled him out of their victory over Leeds United.

The former playmaker was given a chance at redemption a year later though when he impressed in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup final and subsequent replay success over Real Madrid.

“I believe that if it weren’t Frank he’d be out, but he’s giving him time because of his beginning, where he couldn’t bring anyone in and now I think Roman will just might be counting to ten,” Hudson told CaughtOffside.
