Timo Werner has moved to deny claims he switched agents in order to manufacture a transfer to Bayern Munich. The German international, who scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the 3-1 victory over Southampton last weekend, has endured a tough start to the campaign after frequently being left out of the starting XI by Thomas Tuchel.

The 25-year-old finished his debut season in England strongly as he helped Chelsea win the Champions League in Porto with victory over Manchester City.

Despite this, Werner is still yet to live up to expectations since his £47.5million move from RB Leipzig in 2020, with goals proving hard to come by.

Werner continues to be linked with a move away from the European champions with Bayern, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan among those to be linked in the past few months.

Earlier this year, Werner had been represented by Karlheinz Forster but the frontman has now changed agents to link up with Volker Struth.

There has also been speculation that Werner has set himself a deadline to decide his Chelsea fate.

Reports in Germany claim that Werner wanted to make a set number of starts before Christmas and that he would consider a move away should he fail to achieve that.

While the striker admitted he was not happy with spending time on the bench, Werner made it clear he will not jump to conclusions on his future.

“I don’t know anything about the deadline,” he added. “Of course, I can’t be satisfied if I don’t play. Of course, I want to be a regular in a big team.

“But I’m not saying that if I don’t start 10 or 15 games before Christmas, I really want to leave.

“Things happen relatively quickly in football. I have to look at the bigger picture to make my decision.”

Werner is not the only Chelsea attacker facing an uncertain future at the club.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have also been linked with transfers away and all four players are fighting to prove a point to Tuchel this season.
