Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel orders Blues board to sign Frank Lampard transfer target | Football | Sport

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has ordered the club to increase their efforts to sign Paris Saint-Germain youngster Kays Ruiz-Atil, reports suggest. Chelsea were interested in the PSG ace when Frank Lampard was in charge of the club.

Chelsea are set to begin making plans for the summer transfer window.

The Blues were quiet during the January window, and didn’t make any permanent first-team signings despite changing managers.

Lampard was replaced by Tuchel midway through the window, and as a result they didn’t make any major deals.

But now, the new head coach has his eye on a target for the summer, with PSG’s Ruiz-Atil apparently being looked at.

French outlet Foot Mercato, via TeamTalk, claims Ruiz-Atil is being targeted ahead of a potential move in the summer window.

The youngster was given his first-team debut by Tuchel earlier in the season before the German was fired by the French champions.

Ruiz-Atil, 18, plays as a central midfielder but can also play on the left wing. He has made seven appearances from the bench, but his game time dried up after Mauricio Pochettino took charge of the club.

And now, Tuchel is apparently eager to reunite with the teenager and bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have also been linked with bids for Erling Haaland and Dayot Upamaceno, but Tuchel insisted he didn’t want to discuss transfers when asked on Wednesday.

Instead, he stated that there’s a long way to go until the window opens, indicating that Chelsea won’t focus on transfer activity until nearer the summer.

Tuchel also insisted he wouldn’t get drawn into talking about players from other clubs, saying it showed a lack of respect.

“I can understand the interest of every fan and supporter to talk about these subjects,” Tuchel said.
