Carlo Ancelotti threatens to ‘rip up coaching badge’ over Fede Valverde | Football | Sport

Jurgen Klopp searched for a midfielder that could add energy to his squad and saw the Uruguayan as an ideal fit after he set up Vinicius Junior for the winning goal against them in the Champions League final last season.

However, after failing to find a long-term solution, the Gerrman instead decided to loan Arthur Melo from Juventus. And while Ancelotti does not believe that Valverde is the best player in his position as a box-to-box operator, he insists that there is far more to his game than just providing running in the Madrid engine room.

“He’s more than just energy,” he added. “But, to say he’s best in the world in his position, we might have to wait a little longer.”
