All this staying indoors may be good for our bank balance but it’s less good for our skin. And if you’re anything like us, you’re finding your complexion is lacking a little bit of life.

While we can’t give you a Kardashian-style garden with a pool to sunbathe in, we do have six brand new illuminating products to give you flawless looking skin for your next Houseparty date.

Whether you’re after a subtle sheen to enhance your cheekbones or a brightening boost to lift your base, these powders and creams promise to give the youth-enhancing effect your skin needs – and our OK! beauty team has tested them all out for you…

Rodial Instant Glow Primer, buy it here for £30

Sheer and hydrating, this gives a warming and brightening effect to your complexion. Wear it on its own or under foundation.

Our tester says: ‘I would love to only wear this on my skin because it made me look so glowy, but I have spots so I need extra coverage. I was amazed that I could still see a dewy effect even through my thick foundation. Love!’

Estée Lauder Double Wear Brush-On BB Highlighter, buy it here for £25

It comes in seven peachy and pearly shades, and all are meant to disguise fatigue and highlight facial features. Just brush on then pat with your fingertips to blend.

Our tester says: ‘I was expecting more of a glowy finish, but this reminded me of YSL’s Touche Éclat, in that it’s like a light concealer. Lovely for underneath my eyes, but I’d want something more pigmented for my cheekbones.’

Bali Body Glow Stick Highlighter, buy it here for £25.95

A quick drying liquid formula that’s designed to give a lasting glow when swiped across your cheeks and cupid’s bow. There’s a rose gold, a champagne and a golden shade to choose from.

Our tester says: ‘I expected this to give me a full-on whack of shimmer but it was more subtle on my skin – which was good. Very light and easy to blend and it gave me a gorgeous glow without making my skin look shiny.’

NYX High Glass Finishing Powder, buy it here for £10

Designed to set your make-up and give it a ‘glass-like’ (smooth and illuminated) finish, without making it look cakey. This comes in a light, medium and dark shade.

Our tester says: ‘I love setting powders because my face gets oily in the day and a spray always makes my make-up look heavy. This was light and very easy to brush on. A nice, subtle finish that did give my skin a brightening lift.’

Madara Cosmic Drops, buy it here for £17.50

This mixes light reflecting minerals with hyaluronic acid. The formula is buildable, so you can choose from a subtle highlight or a more punchy effect, and there are four shades ranging from pearls to bronze.

Our tester says: ‘One drop really went a long way. It was easy to blend and the liquid dried quite quickly, but I definitely didn’t need a second layer over my cheekbones. I liked the effect once I’d learnt to use the tiniest amount.’

Kjaer Weis Ravishing Highlighter, buy it here for £41

A balm-like formula in a refillable compact, enriched with jojoba oil and beeswax can be used to enhance your cheekbones, nose, and brow bones.

Our tester says: ‘This solid, weighty compact feels very luxurious and has the most satisfying click! It looks expensive on the skin too, giving a classy, subtle sheen. I’m not usually a highlighter fan but I love this.’
