Bayern Munich ‘submit bid to Chelsea’ after agreeing Harry Kane fee with Tottenham | Football | Sport

Bayern Munich have apparently made an offer for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Fresh from agreeing a £94.5million fee for Harry Kane with Tottenham, the German champions are set to continue their assault on the Premier League by trying to prise Arrizabalaga from Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed that Bayern have made an offer of a one-year loan with an option to buy the Spaniard. Signed from Athletic Bilbao for £72m in 2018, Arrizabalaga has endured a tumultuous spell in West London.

The 28-year-old finally won back the No 1 shirt from the now-departed Edouard Mendy midway through last season. But the Spain international faces stronger competition from new signing Robert Sanchez.

Bayern’s own goalkeeping predicament is well-documented. Long-serving club icon Manuel Neuer’s lengthy injury absence is set to continue after he underwent further surgery on a knee problem. Yann Sommer is expected to join Inter Milan, while Alexander Nubel has joined Stuttgart on loan.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern plan to resolve the issue by attempting to sign Arrizabalaga. The report claims that an initial loan deal has been proposed, with the Bavarians then having the option to buy the shot-stopper permanently.
