Anthony Martial may have to find a new club following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United – and with plenty of teams swooping for a new striker, the Frenchman will have lots of suitors.
The arrival of Ronaldo has meant that Martial has found himself even worse off in terms of a starting berth at United, especially with the Portuguese striker’s form.
Ronaldo has scored four goals in three games as the Red Devils sit joint top of the Premier League table.
And with Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood all ahead of him for a role in the spearhead of United’s attack, it might well be time for Martial to say farewell.
Martial, 25, has been linked with various clubs over the summer although nothing came to fruition.
Yet, in a new report, United chiefs have reportedly set a fee of £40million to secure the Frenchman’s figure.
“I have no plans whatsoever for him to play against us,” the Norwegian said.
“Last season was a difficult and disappointing one for him and you can see that little bit of grit between his teeth again.
‘He is up for the challenge, he is Man United player and we are happy to have him. He has proven doubters wrong so many times.”
