Arsenal transfer news: Piers Morgan and Harry Redknapp agree on ‘£100m’ Jack Grealish raid | Football | Sport

Piers Morgan and Harry Redknapp are in agreement that Arsenal should throw the chequebook at Aston Villa for Jack Grealish. The England international has been one of the standout players in the Premier League this season, earning a place in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad.

Grealish was considered by the Gunners hierarchy last summer before Villa slapped an £80million price-tag on his head.

Arsenal baulked at that figure and decided to pursue alternative options.

Mikel Arteta and Edu were soon reminded of Grealish’s quality though when Villa ran riot at the Emirates Stadium in November, romping to a 3-0 victory.

The attacking midfielder now seems unlikely to leave his boyhood club unless they receive an offer in the region of £100m, after he decided to sign a new long-term contract last summer.

It’s not the first time Morgan has urged the Gunners to make a move for Grealish.

In December, he claimed on Twitter he’d be willing to give Villa three players plus cash for their skipper.

He said: “Arsenal should break the bank for @JackGrealish in January. If we don’t get some creative flair into the team, we’re going nowhere – and he’s the most creative player in the country.

“Offer Villa £100m for him or £50m + [Mesut] Ozil, [Shkodran] Mustafi & [Granit] Xhaka. I’m deadly serious.”

In the view of former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino, Arsenal already have their very own Grealish in the form of Emile Smith Rowe.

“He’s got this amazing ability of rolling players,” Cascarino said on talkSPORT.

“Jack Grealish does that really well, where you can roll your one side.

“His touch takes him into his movement; his touch is so good he can just go past people with his touch at times.

“I am just watching a lad who will hopefully grow, because he really does have a lot about him.”
