Arsenal transfer news: Gunners told potential Gabriel Jesus replacement is not good enough | Football | Sport

“So there’s certainly goals in him, we’ve seen that from him when he’s been playing for Lille, I’ve seen it with Canada. There’s a lot of ability but there’s a lot of development to come.

“I think he’s probably in that right bracket of player that Everton probably should be looking to sign. Certainly at a club like Everton anyway and I think he’s attainable for a club like them as well.”

Jesus has not scored the goals he or Arsenal would have wanted since his arrival in the summer. But he has undoubtedly helped transform the club’s style of play up front.

On the news of Jesus’ injury, Gunners star Granit Xhaka said: “It’s a shame because you saw in the first round of the Premier League how important he is for us. I don’t know how big the injury is, maybe two or three months, I think.”
