Arsenal news: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang likes Instagram post about Granit Xhaka transfer | Football | Sport

Xhaka has come under fire by Arsenal fans for his performances so far this season, with supporters vocal in their discontent of the player online.

However, it is highly unlikely that Aubameyang deliberately liked the post by Arsenal fan tv, which included regular contributor Troopz asking the club to get rid of the Switzerland international.

The video was in response to Xhaka’s performance in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham, in which he gave away a penalty on Heung-min Son.

The 26-year-old gave his thoughts on the incident after the clash, and admitted his error cost the team.

He said: “In the London derby, I think we had a good game, I made a mistake with the penalty, yeah, but if you see the game we could have won.

“We had a lot of chances, but this is football, nobody speaks about the chances, how many we missed, always they speak about mistakes.

“That’s a part of football.”

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour spoke out in defence of the player to oppose the criticism, while naming his key attributes.

“Xhaka is good on the ball, he’s decent,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“He can spray passes 25 or 30 yards no problem, he’s very good at doing that.

“Sometimes he fits in and keeps it simple, but at the weekend he didn’t have a good game.

“You know when you’ve not had a good game as a player and I’m sure he knew that at the end but he’s got to get back now, he’s skipper, he can’t let it worry him.

“Xhaka has just got to calm down sometimes.

“He’s got to be a bit cleverer, you’ve got to be clever as a player.”
